Lady Inspiration Week: 40 Somethings

Twenty is the new forty they say and these ladies have me believing it!

Naomi Klein has written several books, most notably The Shock Doctrine. I definitely say it's a must read if you want to be an educated voter in this country. She is a tremendous activist who has been out there with the Occupy movement (and typically gets arrested). The shocking fact that one of our country's greatest activists is Canadian. Sometimes it can take an outside perspective to recognize our flaws. I can't wait for her next book!

Tina Fey & Amy Poehler are proof that you don't have to be 20 something to be hot in Hollywood. These ladies didn't gain major success until their 40's! They became best friends while taking improv classes in Chicago and still stay friends twenty something years later. They both have great husbands, families and a career all while not having to take their clothes off for a role (only if it got a laugh). The ladies are my heroes!

Michelle Obama is one of our most graceful, fashionable and most talked about first ladies since Jackie O. Most first ladies are soft spoken and have tea with other Washington DC socialites. She plays a very active role in her husband's presidency. You can also tell she runs the house! She mixes high-end with low-end fashion to show that she's still the woman she was before becoming the most famous family in America.

Who else would you add to the list?

  1. I'm loving your female inspiration posts (even if I haven't been commenting!) I would kill to be like Tina Fey, or even Michelle Obama. Both are such strong and inspirational women.
