Best and Worst Dressed at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards

It was a somber evening with the passing of Whitney Houston the day before but it was a nice to celebrate music. They did a good job honoring Whitney throughout the night including Jennifer Hudson singing "I Will Always Love You" during the In Memoriam portion. Who didn't tear up? LL Cool J did a good job as host (the first in 7 years!). But now on to the fashion:

L-R: Adele; Corinne Bailey Rae; Alicia Keys; Rihanna
Everyone in black looked gorgeous! Adele was stunning in this sparkly Armani gown. I wish she kept her red hair though.

Corinne Bailey Rae looked adorable in Christian Siriano which was straight from the runway at fashion week. Loved her studded shoes!

Alicia Keys was pretty although it was a little Janelle Monae with the hair. I liked the gold neck plate because she kept the rest of the look simple. Loved the heels!

Rihanna wore a dress with collaborated on with Armani. Damn that body!

L-R: Kelly Rowland; Jessie J; Taylor Swift
The red carpet was pretty underwhelming but here are some other looks that were decent.

Kelly Rowland looked gorgeous in this Alberta Ferretti dress but the hair was out of control. Why all the serious gowns at such a fun event?

I had hopes that Jessie J would wear one of her fun looks for the red carpet. She did look gorgeous in this silver Julie McDonald gown that photographed beautifully.

I would have liked Taylor Swift's dress on somebody else. It is a very high fashion look that I don't think she pulls off. She is definitely trying for a more grown up look though.

L-R: Carrie Underwood; Paris Hilton; Skylar Grey; Robyn
White was a popular trend on the red carpet. I liked Carrie Underwood's gorgeous white lace Gomez Garcia dress but wish she showed a little more skin. She's young!

L-R: Nicki Minaj; Sasha Gradiva; Fergie; Katy Perry
Nicki Minaj was just trying too hard to be Gaga in this Versace couture hooded number. She walked the red carpet with a Pope look-a-like. If Gaga wore this it would be to make a statement against the Catholic church. Nicki was just being weird.

I don't know who this Sasha Gradiva is but she had the WTF moment of the night with a machine gun attached to her arm.

Fergie showed too much in this Jean Paul Gaultier see through orange lace dress. I don't think the black under garments were a good choice, perhaps nude would have been better.

Katy Perry didn't look like herself in this blue Elie Saab dress. I know that sounds weird with her hair but it was too sophisticated for the Grammys. Be Katy Perry - fun and quirky!

Who were your favorite looks of the night?

  2. Red carpet fashion as a whole wasn't very exciting I did love Corrine Bailey Rae's look, stunning and Rihanna's Armani collabo fit her as if it was made for her (which is was lol) gorgeous girl. I like that Fergie stepped out there and took a chance...maybe not with the black underneath though? Idk

    1. No it was a very disappointing red carpet. Yeah if it was lined it would have been a lot more gorgeous :(

  3. I definitely agree with your worst dressed! Those were bad. It was so sad to hear about Whitney. It took me out of the mood to watch.
