FBFF: For Those Who Like Books

Belle was my favorite Disney princess because she read books. November is the National Novel Writing Month, and since Katy has been working on my next young adult book for the last several months it got her wondering what everyone else was reading? If you read my blog, then you probably already know I'm a book nerd and often have book reviews. I read 5 books this summer but unfortunately I'm still getting through one this fall (woops!).

1. "Catcher In The Rye" by J.D. Salinger - Oh man, I was one of those girls who had a crush on Holden Caulfield.

2. "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley - This female author made great strides and you can't help but love the monster.

3. "Anna Karenina" by Leo Tolstoy - The first sentence is historic: "All happy families are alike; every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way." If that doesn't sum up so much of life... I don't know what does. I also feel accomplished having read all 864 pages and that it's a member of Oprah's Book Club.

4. "Tuesdays with Morrie" by Mitch Albom - Such a beautiful book about life but man... I can't help but cry so I don't reread it too often.

5. "Slaughterhouse-Five" by Kurt Vonnegut -  I love anything Vonnegut really. He was amazing. Check out his Daily Show list.

I'm currently reading "You Say Tomato, I Say Shut Up" which is a he said/she said tale of a marriage. It's quite hilarious so far. Stay tuned for my review!

What are your favorite novels?

  1. I've only read one of your list, but I'm not one of the girls that likes Holden! Maybe if it hadn't been in highschool.. I can't quite remember if I've read Tuesdays with Morrie, but I know the book. The 5 People You Meet in Heaven is the same author, right? That's a good one too.

Come check out my blog if you're interested, I'm hosting my first give-away!

  2. The only book on you list that I've read, is Anna Karenina. Have to admit I'm behind on the classics, but I'd really like to read Catcher in the Rye. Maybe one day....

  3. I love reading as well. The Catcher in the Rye is one of my all time favourites. I love Catch 22 and constantly read Carlos Ruiz Zafon book.

  4. Belle is my favorite princess too!I wish I had her library and those are great book choices, particularly Frankenstein. It's terrible how that book has been so misconstrued. The monster is one of the most human characters ever conjured.
