"Goodwill Suits You" DMD Fashion Show

the runway was ready

I had the honor of styling the Goodwill DMD Fashion Show last Tuesday at their East Harlem store. The Goodwill placed over 3,000 people with disabilities in jobs last year alone. They are an amazing organization and I was happy to participate. October is National Disability Employment Awareness month. Disability Mentoring Day (DMD) is an annual event that pairs students and job seekers with disabilities with mentors to help them explore career opportunities is today.

4 bloggers were designated stylist, those lovely ladies include: Jamillah of Made to Travel, Robin of Thrifty Vintage Chic and Patrice of Looking Fly on a Dime. Our models had visible and non-visible disabilities and were employed by Goodwill of New York and New Jersey.

Kim working it out

My models were Kimberly Blackwood, Community Development Specialist, Goodwill's Prevocational Porgram (the two Kim's!) who I styled in a day/night dress. And Lincoln Scott, Clean Team member, Goodwill's Astoria Headquarters who looked great in classic grey slacks and a white button up. He loved his look! I pulled their looks for their Upper East Side Stuyvesant store on 2nd and 88th. The staff was so amazing in helping me pull looks.

Megan Lukas, Director, Community Outreach for The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. and her team of stylists provided make-up for the models.

I wore a gold sequin blazer (which everyone wanted to steal off of me lol!), my red Old Navy jeans, my Fashion's Night Out tee (half tuck!) and my very bright lipstick.
