FBFF: Jumping On The Fad Bandwagon

The wild popularity of the Missoni Target line got Katy thinking about fads, trends, and our desire
to be part of the 'in' crowd.

1. Do you ever see a fad hit the stores and immediately dislike it? Has that fad ever began to grow on you?
Of course! I dislike a lot of the fads. I was REALLY against jeggings but now I love them. You have to find quality ones that actually have some denim material rather than all stretch. Although I'm totally against pajama jeans.

2. Has the popularity of a certain piece of clothing or line ever convinced you to try on something (or purchase something) you dislike?
Hmm... popular how? If I tend to see a lot of bloggers (every day girls) wearing an item then they usually convince me to try it (i.e. turbans). I did try to buy the Jessica Simpson knock-offs of Jeffrey Campbells and felt like a fool walking in them, I don't know how you girls do it!

3. Have you ever changed your mind about a trend after seeing it around for a while?

Definitely! That's one of the many reasons I love blogs.

4. Do you feel a certain pressure to have specific items in your closet because 'everyone' else does?

No not at all. I have in my closet what I like and what fits me.

5. Be honest, what do you think of the Missoni line? Did you grab any items? Is it worth the eBay prices?

I'm still bitter (lol!). I thought there were cute pieces. I don't think it's worth the eBay prices. Only Chanel is worth that honey! What are your feelings about fads?

  2. The real Litas are MUCH easier to walk in than you think hey are. They look great with pajama jeans :)

  3. Pajama Jeans - wow! I can't believe people actually wear these. My best friend told me about these when they first came out and I was horrified. They remain horrific. I do like some of the jeggings though. I saw some nice corduroy ones in Macy's that would look great with the tall boots I am so fond of.
I completely agree with your Chanel comment!!
    Happy friend Friday!

  5. @Katy Rose- haha glad I added some laughter :)

@Kristen- I just don't think I can do 6" heels. But you ladies go ahead rockin' them!

@Yvonne- haha I think they just took the trend TOO far. Ooh nice, hope you do an outfit post :)

@Veshoevius- haha they do exist :p

  6. Wow those pajama jeans are something. Yeah I had forgotten about jeggings, I hated them when they first came out. I'm wearing a pair today and they are much more comfy than regular skinny jeans. I have a scar from c sections and find low cut jeans uncomfortable. Jeggings are comfy. Ha ha I'm getting old if it's all about comfort! Agree about Chanel, definitely worth spending if you can find the real deal!

  8. OMG I'm so glad you found a picture of those pajama jeans…they are terrifying! Whenever I see that commercial I bust out laughing. I agree about Chanel being worth that kind of money…so is the real Missoni too! :)

  9. I actually didn't like the Jeffrey Campbell Litas when they first came out but after seeing them on all the bloggers I decided to invest in some knockoff ones. They are just as cute. And who would wear Pajama pants. I don't follow trends. I hated colorblocking and never tried it and I don't buy things just to fit in.

  11. Bloggers definitely make me try out trends far more than I ever used to - as I see stylish people working trends I'd never think would look good! :)
