FBFF: Some People I'd Like To Thank...

This is the official one-year anniversary of FBFF! We each have so many people in our lives and in the blogging community who have helped us along the way. It’s time to shine the spotlight on them and give credit where credit is due.

1. When it comes to me personally – I owe a lot of who I am to:
My grandfather. I am exactly his personality. We like to tease the ones we love but we love hard. My grandfather never asked "how much money you make" or "what college did you go to" like most people do when meeting you. He asked "do you got an undershirt on" and "got a girlfriend" (he was so nosy about our love lives!).  My dad likes to claim I got my fashion sense from him, but I think I inherited his sarcasm and musical taste.

2. When it comes to me professionally – I owe a lot of who I am to:
I have to thank my first boss, Christie Martin. She gave me my first official full-time job after I graduated FIDM. She was the best boss anyone could ask for. She took me to lunch, got me cupcakes, gave me free jewelry and trusted me with so much in the company. We keep in touch even after I left 4 years ago.

3. When it comes to the art of blogging, I’m grateful to these people for helping me through some rough spots:
Midtown Girl has been a great mentor to me. She has answered so many of my blogging questions and has surrendered so much of her time to offer support.

One of my first followers was Sherin of Hi Fashion who also graciously let me write a guest post for her.

One of the first people I ever chatted with on Twitter, Fashion Court, is also someone I consider a Twitter bestie. She listens to my problems and offers great advice on a daily basis. Love her!

I would also like to thank Ty of Iconography the magazine for allowing me to fulfill a dream of mine, covering New York Fashion Week. She gave me confidence in my writing (and tweeting) and has been one of my biggest cheerleaders!

4. One blogging challenge I’m grateful happened because it made me stronger was…

I think getting let go from my official blogging job at Lovelyish. It has allowed me to focus my full attention on my personal blog (and job hunting). I greatly appreciate my time at Lovelyish because I made so many great online friends, which I have carried on to with this blog. The blogging community is so wonderful and they've warmly embraced I Have A Degree In This!

5. To my readers, I’d like to say…
THANK YOU! I do write these posts because they interest me but it's great to know other people want to read what I'm saying.

Happy Friday!
