Guest Blog: 2011 Top Shoe Trends – the High’$ & Low’$

*Today's Guest Blog comes from the lovely Working Girl's Shoe Closet. After discussing my trend predictions for 2011, I thought it would be great if she shared her thoughts about upcoming shoe trends. Enjoy!
It’s a new year and the new fashions are brimming from show house to show house.  Fashion is all about being fun and feeling good.  The days of serious fashion are far gone like last year’s unmet resolutions.  This little ditty is to help you figure out where to spend that hard earned cash money.  The runways are giving us lots to choose from, but these are the trends to invest in and the trends for that are for fun where you can be more thrifty while always staying very 2011.
Taking us back to our childhood or maybe just to Sweden this season, are clogs.  They are definitely here for at least this coming year, and my goodness, these are SO cute!  These are the Hasbeens T bar strap shops available at Top Shop.  My lifelong addiction for T-straps started back when I had my set of Fashion Plates and these SO give me that fix!  They have a great high heel with a great high platform to go with it.  On sale for $79 makes this an easy trend to follow.

I’m simply MAD for heeled loafers!  Mad Men is making its fashion mark in all the right places.  Those gorgeous tweed suits have me jonesing for Spring ASAP.   These Prada loafers are an investment piece.  While they are on the high price side of life at $600+, these are shoes that you will have in your closet FOREVER.  And they are such classics, that they have already made a comeback.  This is a great moment for splurging.
However, the Clasp Platform Pump from Charles by Charles David is also a great way to scratch the Mad Men itch.  This fantastic platform pump integrates menswear in a sexy feminine way.  And at $135, this is a more affordable way to still get that 60’s rush.
The next major moment we’re having this year is minimalism and color blocking.  These ‘Escarpin’ mirrored plaque pumps by Christian Dior are to die for.  While they are also on the high price of lift at almost $500, they are an investment worth making.  They too have a classic appeal that is timeless and are a proven return customer for fantastic women’s fashion.  They have a simplicity that transcends the trendy while still being modern, chic and very work appropo. ;)

Moving to the more whimsical side of fashion are the sensational 70’s.  The ‘Vicious’ platform peep toe mary janes exude 70’s fashion with its chunky heel and wonderful color contrasting.  They are a complete bargain at $79.72 on the Endless.com sale.
And last, but far from least is COLOR!  This is a fun trend is the one you want to be the most thrifty with because of its limited versatility.  However, being limited in its versatility doesn’t mean that you can’t be cute.  And cute doesn’t even being to describe these very adorable ‘Koool’ flats by Steve Madden.  The delicious coral color makes you feel like you are riding a wonderful tropical breeze in the middle of your urban jungle.  At $69.95, this is the cheapest island pleasure you can find without packing your carry-ons!
And as a great night out on the town option, Spiegel gives us the delightful patent and faux suede pump.  Filled with a gorgeous grape sassiness, this 4 ½” heel with ½” platform are practically free for the super sale price of $34.

Altogether, the 2011 top shoe trends prove to give us a variety of fun fashion options and I hope that this helps you hit the high’$ & low’$ of how to make the most of this year’s trends.

What shoe trends are predicting for 2011?
